In Cook Club we teach a whole range of cooking skills to help students become more independent, starting with the basics like measuring out ingredients, preparing food safely and simple baking and leading on to following more complex recipes for those who are interested. The sessions are designed to be fun and students take delight in preparing and cooking their own lunch or taking home cakes they have made.
The session is a pathway to working in the Vineyard Café, in the kitchen, serving customers and using the till. Café students are supervised by catering instructors and learn about food hygiene legislation.
Cook Club makes the popular Elham Valley Vineyard range of jams and chutneys and also supplies the café with delicious quiches, cakes and scones.
