Overview

The Fifth Trust’s day care services are offered at the Vineyard Skills Centre and Barham Skills Centre, located close by each other in the Elham Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty.

We are open to students from 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday all year round, except for bank holidays and the Christmas period. We pride ourselves on offering an exciting and challenging range of activities and opportunities, and we work with each individual to create a programme that helps strengthen their life skills, building their confidence and independence so they can make their own choices, large or small. The Fifth Trust offers:

• A personal development plan reviewed annually to set goals and celebrate achievements.
• Practical work experience alongside staff in our social enterprises - the Vineyard Garden Centre and Cafe, Wood Shack carpentry workshop, log deliveries and garden maintenance service.
• Skills centres with extensive outside space located in quiet rural settings.

Fifth Trust Buddy scheme

We now operate a Buddy scheme at The Fifth Trust. New starters can be paired with a current student under supervision of our experienced instructors. The chosen Buddy is a friend and can assist new students in their sessions, encouraging an easier transition into The Fifth Trust. You can read about Sue and Chelsea’s experience here.
