Sights set on Snowdon
25 May 2021
The Fifth Trust administrator Alison Turner and her friend Tracy Brudenell are each putting their best foot forward to raise funds for us.
The pair are getting set to conquer Mount Snowdon in July and are collecting sponsorship for their endeavour.
Alison explained: “It all started when I went out walking with students during the Covid-19 lockdowns. Some of our students struggled with their mental health in the pandemic and we found that going for a socially distanced walk with them really helped with their anxiety.
“We decided to set ourselves the challenge of hiking to the summit of Snowdon and back. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy the physical and mental health benefits of walking while we train and to raise money for the benefit of all our students.”
Tracy will tackle the 3,560ft (1,085m) peak as a volunteer activity supported by her employer, Chaucer, a management consultancy company.
Tracy said: “Over my career I have worked, volunteered or supported children and adults with learning disabilities, so it is a cause close to my heart.”
The intrepid trekkers will sport T-shirts designed and made with the help of The Fifth Trust students.
