Come to the craft fair

04 November 2021

The Fifth Trust Christmas craft fair will take place on Saturday 4 December from 11am-3pm at the Elham Valley Vineyard.

The craft fair is our major fundraising event of the year and also acts as a showcase for creative work designed and made by our adult students with learning disabilities.

Visitors will be able to stock up on students’ Christmas cards and wrapping paper, decorations, ceramic and woodwork gifts, jams and chutneys. The Vineyard garden centre will have real Nordmann Christmas trees and wreaths and the café will be serving hot food and drinks. Canterbury Christ Church University Music Society will be singing carols.

Sparkling and still wine produced from the Trust’s vineyard will be on sale. There will also be an exhibition of students’ art and stalls run by local craft producers.

The Fifth Trust CEO Nikki Marley said: “All our students and staff have been working hard to get ready for the craft fair. After we were forced to cancel the annual event last year because of the pandemic there is even more excitement about it than usual.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming lots of visitors and showing them the amazing work our students produce throughout the year during creative sessions.

“We also hope to be able to raise a substantial amount of money to support the services we offer to the 150 learning disabled people who attend our skills centres every week.”
