Skills centre scoops prize

The Fifth Trust’s new Barham Skills Centre is now an award winner!
The £2m redevelopment was named Construction Project of the Year at the Kent Invicta Chamber Awards last night.
We joined project leader b&m, architects HMY and construction company Breem at the annual awards, which bring together the county’s business community to showcase the amazing achievements of a range of businesses and talented individuals.
The skills centre scooped the construction prize for its design, delivery and impact on the local community. Replacing worn-out, 30-year-old wooden huts, the three fully accessible buildings have transformed how we deliver activities and will enable us to increase student numbers and the range of courses we offer.
The Fifth Trust CEO Nikki Marley said: “We’re delighted to see the team behind the redevelopment recognised. Together with all those who contributed to our six-year fundraising campaign, they turned a long-held dream into a reality.”
